Who will beat last year’s winners Becketts and be crowned Suffolk Sports Day Champions 2025?

Home-Start in Suffolk support families across all communities in the county, guiding them through challenging and complex circumstances. Starting in the home, our approach is as individual as the people we’re helping. No judgement, it is just compassionate, confidential help with professional support and advice. Fundraising events such at the Suffolk Sports Day are a great opportunity for us to raise much needed funds that go directly back to support local families when they need it most.

About the Suffolk Sports Day

The Suffolk Sports Day will be taking place at Trinity Park in Ipswich on Thursday 18th September. This year’s event will see a welcome return of the traditional sports day races including a 3-legged race,
egg & spoon race, sack race and team relay race. These highly contested races definitely get the event to a great start, and set the competitive tone for the afternoon.

Our Sports Day will also include some individual activities including, Netball, Football & Golf skills. One of our key event sponsors, Abbeycroft will also be bringing their climbing wall along with
archery and axe throwing. 

Those participants not as keen on the physical activities, we also have a team challenge that may test the mind more than the body! The afternoon’s fun activities will also include a BBQ and prize-winning presentation, where participants and our event sponsors will get an opportunity to network and enjoy some time socialising.

Local businesses can enter teams of up to 10 people (minimum 6). The cost to take part is £600 per team and includes a branded team T shirt, BBQ and refreshments for all team members. There are also a range of sponsorship opportunities for local businesses looking to raise awareness and support our event.

Join the Home-Start Hike and help raise vital funds for Suffolk families. We believe that every parent should have the support they need to give their child the best possible start in life. By taking part in this fundraising event, you’ll be making a real difference to families in your community. 

When: Sunday 28th September 2025

Where: The Home-Start Hike will be starting at Kingfisher Leisure Centre in Sudbury. The 3, 6 and 13 mile Hikes will also finish at the Kingfisher Leisure Centre, and the 26 mile Hike will finish at Bury St Edmunds Cathedral.

Hike Distances & Start Times

There are 4 routes available for people to choose from that will let you enjoy the incredible Suffolk countryside, take in the stunning landscapes that inspired Thomas Gainsborough, enjoy the towns and villages steeped in history and the unspoiled nature surrounding the valley trails.

Registration Fees & Sponsorship

Registration to take part in this event starts at just £10. When you register to take part in the Home-Start Hike you will also be agreeing to raise the minimum sponsorship required. Please note all children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Corporate Team Entry

Ticket Price: £100 | Sponsorship Target: £500

We are inviting local businesses to enter teams to take part in the Home-Start Hike. Up to 6 members of staff can represent the organisation and they can choose which Hike distance they complete (only employees over 18 can participate in 13 mile and 26 mile Hike). Staff members can all choose their own distance, they do not all have to commit to do the same or walk together however at time of registering, they must confirm which distance they will be completing. They will also be responsible as a team to generate the sponsorship.

Refreshments & Aid Stations
