Alex is a journalist and father of two who grew up in Suffolk.

After training locally he worked on stories across the UK before joining the news desks of Fleet Street 15 years ago. He has been Head of News at The Sun since 2016.

Alex said: “I was still a teenager when I became aware of Home-Start and the vital work that it does, my mother joined the charity as a volunteer, and spent more than a year helping a local family. It was an incredibly challenging time for the young mother. Recently my mother saw her for the first time in more than 25 years. She was happy and well, and had just started a new career.

 

 

“Since becoming a father myself I have become acutely aware of how hard raising a family can be, now I’d like to do what I can to help those who aren’t lucky enough to have the help and support I was given.”
